Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the HSA Vault mobile application (the "Service") operated by 42DIGITAL ("us", "we", or "our").

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Not Financial or Tax Advice

The Service is designed to assist you in parsing, categorizing, and securely storing medical receipts. The information provided by the Service, including the categorization of "eligible" and "ineligible" expenses based on IRS Publications 969 and 502, is generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI) for informational purposes only. It does not constitute professional tax, accounting, or legal advice.

2. AI Fallibility and User Responsibility

HSA Vault utilizes advanced generative AI and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract data from the photos you provide. You acknowledge and agree that:

• AI Models Make Mistakes: The AI may misread numbers, miscategorize items, or hallucinate data due to blurry images, poor lighting, or complex receipt layouts.
• Mandatory User Verification: You are strictly responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying the accuracy of all extracted data (including merchants, dates, and eligible totals) before using this data for tax preparation, audits, or HSA withdrawals.
• 42DIGITAL bears no liability for tax penalties, audit failures, or financial losses resulting from inaccurate data extracted by the App.

3. Device Security & Data Loss

Because HSA Vault is a "local-first" application, your receipt data is stored exclusively on your device. We do not back up your data to our servers. You acknowledge that if you lose your device, uninstall the App without exporting your data, or experience a hardware failure, your receipt data may be permanently lost. We strongly encourage you to utilize native device backups (e.g., iCloud or Google Drive backups).

4. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of 42DIGITAL. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

5. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall 42DIGITAL, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; (iii) any content obtained from the Service; and (iv) unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content.

6. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
